What we do
Maun Waste Warriors is a group of passionate volunteers based in Maun on the edge of the Okavango Delta in Botswana.
Our aim is to bring together individuals, companies and government and help them towards a brighter, healthier future.
Our Events
Starting in June 2020 we have called upon volunteers to help us with a weekly 2 hour clean up. The purpose of these clean-ups is to:
- Engage and educate the community
- Raise awareness of the waste issues facing us
- Rehabilitate illegal dump sites
- Identify the most common types of waste so that we can create recycling opportunities.
- Separate and collect recyclables waste to be used in projects
Our Projects
All our actions are based in the frame of a big deal of projects
Our objective: to have a proper Waste Management Plan that lead to have clean and safe environment in Maun, for the humans and rest of the life: livestock, wildlife, rivers and all our beautiful vegetation
XXI Century
Society has changed. Our modern way of life generates tonns of waste every day. It is very important people stop perceiving this “landscape” as something normal.
We urgently need to reduce pollution and consumption of our natural resources.
Your environment needs your help by reusing and recycling as much as you can.
Waste Management
For waste management to be successful, it needs cooperation from of all levels of society
Every citizen must be responsible for disposing of their garbage properly. The local government is responsible for providing an appropriate collection system, encouraging the separation of garbage for recycling
